Program Summary
IEP Empowerment Coaching is a personalized 1:1 program for parents who want to understand the IEP process and advocate for their children themselves. The program includes five 1-hour coaching sessions with individualized review and preparation, providing 10–12 hours of expert support tailored to your child’s unique needs.
The Goal: To provide parents with the information and strategy they need to be effective, confident advocates for their children.
Program Modules
- Module 1: Understanding Your Rights: Learn how the special education process works and what protections and responsibilities shape IEP decision-making.
- Module 2: Defining Your Child’s Learning Profile: Analyze evaluations and assessments to clearly identify your child’s strengths, challenges, and learning needs.
- Module 3: Understanding and Using Data: Learn how to review work samples, progress reports, and communication from the school to identify patterns, gaps, and areas of growth.
- Module 4: Understanding the IEP Document: Review your child’s IEP section by section to understand services, accommodations, goals, and how they connect to your child’s needs.
- Module 5: Preparing for the IEP Meeting: Develop a clear parent vision statement, organize your priorities, and plan how to participate productively in the meeting.
